Symptoms:

OD planetary failure

Cause:
A melted front lube/drainback valve restricts the lube oil feed circuit in the stator.

Correction:
Sonnax front lube/drainback valve kit will not melt.

In Ford 4R100 and E4OD units, the OE plastic front lube/drainback valve assembly can melt at elevated fluid temperature. Once the plastic ball seat or ball seat stop melts it can restrict the front lube oil feed circuit, resulting in overdrive planetary failure. The Sonnax front lube/drainback valve kit will not melt, preventing planetary failure.
